I first wrote about how Actual Cafe owner Sal Bednarz planned to open Victory Burger next door in April. After months of recipe development and construction, it officially opened on Friday. The menu looks interesting and affordable with a Pork & Egg Arepa (slow roasted Eden Farms Pork with a fried organic egg on an Arepa with spicy marinated and raw veggies, $9), Veggie Arepa (grilled plantains, sliced avocado, smoked marinated tofu, tamarind-chutney and slaw, $8) and Roast Chicken Bahn Mi (pulled roast chicken, on an Acme torpedo roll with veggie slaw, raw jalapeños, fish sauce and chicken skin mayo, $8), along with the Victory Burger (Five Dot Ranch patty on an Acme Kaiser roll with lettuce, grilled onion and house ketchup, $8). There’s also an extensive list of Add-ons for the burgers and fries, including Bacon Gravy, Avocado Mayo, Chicken Skin Mayo and Inna jalapeño Jam. Right now, Victory Burger is only open for lunch but there are plans to add dinner service in the next few weeks.
