Frugal – Sunday Wine Down

Lungomare opened about six months ago in Jack London Square, but I didn’t get a chance to stop by until Saturday. My friend and I had a good meal and we learned about their three course Sunday Wine Down Dinner. Bread is offered on request, and trust me – you should definitely ask for some.  It was actually Foccacia, somewhere in that magical space between fluffy and dense, and flavored with rosemary and salt. We requested more and even talked the server into giving us another piece to take home. The fresher than fresh Heirloom Tomato Salad, with Watermelon, Fennel, Mint, Basil and Ricotta Salata is one of the options for the first course.  It’s basically summer on a plate.  For the second course, you can choose between Thin Crust Pizza, Pasta, Risotto or Porchetta. Dessert is either Housemade Gelato or Peach Panna Cotta with Blackberry Gelato.  And, let’s not forget the bottomless glass of wine. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me.
