Late Night Eats: Town Snack Bar

Town Snack Bar opened a couple months ago inside Two Star Market in the Dimond District.  They serve Late Night Eats and will even deliver orders over $20 for free if you live in the area.  When I stopped by the other day, it was a small operation with the wife cooking in the kitchen and her husband taking orders.  There were ten dishes on the menu and it was pretty much all drunk food.

The Tot-Chos (Tater Tots smothered in 3 cheese blend, house chipotle sauce, jalapenos, lettuce, tomatoes, chives, chicken, $10) were wonderfully gooey, but I wished the tots were more crispy.

I also tried the Chicken Little Box (Fried Chicken & Waffle Sliders served with jalapeno cole slaw & sriracha syrup, $8), which was tasty. The chicken was crispy and the syrup added sweet heat, but the fries were slightly undercooked and under seasoned.

Sometimes a late night food run is so necessary, so Town Snack Bar is a welcome addition to the neighborhood.  And these are the kind of dishes that probably taste amazing when you’re drunk.  Check it out if you’re in the area, but I wouldn’t make a special trip.
