Social – Latte Art & King Cake

The Bay Area Coffee Community is organizing a monthly Latte Art Competition series.  The first East Bay event is scheduled for this week at Awaken Cafe, which proudly serves Four Barrel.  Worthy baristas repping Blue Bottle, Ritual Coffee, and Stanza Coffee will compete for prizes, cash and points.  The top three baristas at the end of the season will win even bigger prizes and there will be “free food, booze and door prizes for attendees.”

Angeline’s Louisiana Kitchen is celebrating Mardi Gras with plenty of specials, including Fried Alligator with garlicky aioli ($10.95) and Gator Chili (slow roasted bacon, beef, pork, & alligator in tomatoes, red beans, garlic & Cajun spices, topped with cheddar cheese, $6.95). King Cake is also available for pre-order.  Each cake is filled with blueberries and cream cheese and decorated in Mardi Gras colors.  Laissez les bons temps rouler!
