You’ll find unique gifts and simultaneously support local businesses at Oakland’s “Holiday Shopping Mall-ternative.” Of course, hot cocoa, coffee, tea, wine and food will be available. But, the biggest news is that Oakland’s own Linden Street Brewery is unveiling a brand new beer: Bleeding Heart Lager, in honor of East Bay Express. There will be a kid’s zone, theatrical performances and a DJ to add to the festive atmosphere.

Saul’s is celebrating Hanukkah with a 3 day Latke Tent and a Beer Garden on Saturday and Sunday. Latkes are $2.50 each or $27 a dozen. They’re also selling apple sauce, sour cream and soufganiyot (doughnuts!). The following menu will be served for Hanukkah dinners from December 11 – 18: Chicken Zata’ar, Lokshen and Brisket braised with tangerine, Salt and Pepper Spiced Fried Fish, Brisket Platter, Cauliflower and Lentil Stew with Iraqi Kitchri rice, fried onions and yogurt, Potato Latkes, Carrot and Parsley Latkes, Soufganyiot
