I met Hannah Hoffman, the chef-owner of Doughnut Dolly a few weeks ago and tasted one of her creations. She makes yeast-raised doughnuts that are filled to order. I chose the tart-sweet lemon cream, but after everything I’ve heard about her signature Crème Fraîche “Naughty Cream”, I’ll definitely get that one next time. She signed a lease on a cute space in Temescal Alley with lots of natural light, and now Hannah is fundraising to cover construction costs on Kickstarter through Monday. If you donate $25, you will get 3 doughnuts, a mug and a magnet – and the rewards get better as the donation increases. Hannah plans to open in the next few months, but if you’d like to taste a doughnut before then, check her Facebook page to find out where she’ll be popping up. In fact, she’ll be in Temescal Alley tonight from 6 – 9pm.

Actual Cafe is planning to open Victory Burger in the space next door late this year. They will serve “sustainably-raised meat and organic produce, with delicious fries, shakes, and some other unique things.” The video shoot for the Kickstarter campaign will happen sometime in the next week or two and fans are needed for the scene. Check the Facebook page for updates.
