Nosy – Oakland Style Pizza

After months of preparation, Nick’s Pizza is opening tomorrow.  Nick Yapor-Cox is an Oakland native who worked as a pastry chef in New York for several years before coming back home.  He has experience in several local restaurants, most recently Arizmendi, where he learned about sourdough baking.  He’s taking all that knowledge and putting it together to create what he calls “Oakland style pizza.”  There will be 5 rotating selections including classics (Pepperoni), vegan options (Asparagus, Cherry Tomatoes, Caramelized Onions and Olive Oil) and interesting specials (Pulled Pork with Apple Cider Vinaigrette and Fresh Cabbage and Mac-n-Cheese Pizza with Bacon, Garlic and Three Cheese).  Of course, there will also be desserts like Chocolate Chip Cookies and Strawberry Shortcake on the menu.
