Off the Grid Alameda just launched on Saturday in the South Shore Center. It’s scheduled to continue year round, rain or shine, in the parking lot near the intersection of Park and Otis Streets. Eight food trucks were at the first event, including East Bay favorites Cupkate’s Bakery, Five Ten Burger and Nick’s Wheely Good Breakfast. I didn’t make it out, but apparently there was a huge turnout and trucks started to run out of food around 1pm. The organizers are preparing for the crowd and bringing in more food trucks this weekend. Stay tuned.
