The 5th annual Oaktoberfest is in the Dimond District this weekend. The family friendly street festival will have a Kid’s Area, German-style Homebrew Competition and live music. In addition to German cuisine, there will be vendors selling other dishes, including Fist of Flour Pizza Co., Oaktown Jerk, Charlie Frank’s Pies, Fikir Catering (Ethiopian), Bay Leaf Catering (gumbo), Junior Chef’s Society (Fire Roasted Corn and hibiscus lemonade with basil). Twenty local microbreweries will be in the Biergarten, including Linden Street Brewery, Oakland Brewing Company, Pacific Coast Brewing and Drakes Brewing Company. For $20, you get a Festival Tasting Stein and four 12 oz craft beer pours, or you can just get unlimited 4 oz tastes for $40.
