Grand Lake Kitchen opened for lunch in November and since then the owners have added brunch and dinner. There’s also a weekday happy hour from 4 – 7pm, when glasses of Rosé, Sparkling Wine and a Cured Meat & Housemade Pickle Plate are all $5. When I stopped by the other day, it was actually more of a generous Cured Meat Plate with just a couple cauliflower pickles – still a good value and a tasty snack. I should also mention that bottles of wine are half price during happy hour for the rest of this month. Oh yeah…happy hour just got happier. If you want to stay for dinner, you might want to try the Baked Pasta ($11). When I tried the simple dish (with just pasta shells, tomato sauce, garlic, lemon, collard greens, ricotta, mozzarella and bread crumbs), it was savory, crunchy, surprisingly light and perfectly balanced.
