Sandro Rossi opened Caffe 817 on June 25, 1993 and it quickly developed a loyal following with many of those first customers still visiting today. Chefs Scott and Emily Goldenberg took over in March of 2011 and “were thrilled to be able to jump into the community of this restaurant which we ourselves had come to love over the years.” There are a few lunch specials today and since it’s raining, the Chickpea and Tomato Soup with Arugula ($6.75) sounds perfect. To thank new and old customers and to celebrate the 20th Anniversary, the entire food menu will be 10% off all day. And, there will be more surprises…
