Nosy – Marrow

Chef-owner Jon Kosorek opened Marrow opened a few months ago.  It’s “a little hole in the wall, just trying to do things the right way.”  I had heard so many good things about food but didn’t get a chance to try it until now.  The menu changes often because Marrow uses “one animal at a time, from a local farmer, building the menu around utilizing every cut.”  I met a few friends there and between us, we sampled most of dishes on that day’s menu. Juicy, meaty and oh so flavorful, the Reuben (House Corned Beef, Kraut & Swiss Cheese on Toasted Marble Rye, $12) lived up to the hype and then some.  I only planned to take a bite since we were sharing, but I devoured that sandwich.  The fingerling potatoes in the Crispy Potato Salad ($4) were creamy on the inside, crispy on the outside and bathed in a preserved lemon vinaigrette.  If you’re in the mood for a lighter lunch, the huge Trout Cobb Salad ($12) was refreshing, with lots of complimentary flavors and textures.  And I didn’t taste it, but my friend said the Patty Melt was really good, too.  I’ll have to try that next time.
