Nosy – Uptown Juice

Janice Yenpasook started making juice last Fall after doing a 21 day detox program. There were a few clean, organic, and raw juice companies in SF at the time, but nothing readily available in Oakland. So she started Uptown Juice, which is an environmentally friendly business that sources produce from local farms and composts virtually 100% of its waste. The juices gave me energy, but more importantly, they actually tasted good. There are currently six flavors: Kale-ifornia Love, Stacking Green; Beets, Limes & Love; Gimme a Beet, Orange Crush and my favorite Gin-ger and Juice.  Cold pressed every morning, the juices are fresh and packed with nutrients.  There’s no sugar or water added, and in fact, there’s up to three pounds of produce in the 16 ounce bottle.  You can find them at a pop-up stand in front of Solespace or you can get free delivery on orders of $35 or more through August with this discount code: eastbaydishAUG2013
