The first annual A Taste of Oakland is this weekend. It’s basically an Uptown Block Party and sounds like a great opportunity to taste your way through the neighborhood – and it’s for a good cause! Participating restaurants will offer samples and discounted cocktails ($5). Bars will offer samples of cocktails and local boutiques will offer wine tasting. There are over 20 participating local businesses including Anfilo Coffee, Bar Dogwood, Bench & Bar, Camber, Era Art Bar & Lounge, Hawker Fare, Hutch, Kingston 11, Kitchener, The Legionnaire Saloon, Make Westing, Ozumo, Pican, Rudy’s Can’t Fail Cafe’, Somar Bar, Telegraph, Tsunami, Uptown Kitchen, Vo’s, Luka’s Taproom and Lounge, Mockingbird and Sweet Bar Bakery. Era’s hosting the after party ($5), which starts at 8pm. Proceeds will go to to Oakland School for the Arts and Youth Radio.
