Baron’s Eats in Alameda Marketplace

When East End Pizza moved into a bigger space in the summer, some friends and I checked it out. After dinner, we walked around Alameda Marketplace and noticed that Baron’s Meat & Poultry was opening Baron’s Eats in the smaller space recently vacated by the the pizza spot. It’s like Restaurant Musical Chairs! Anyway, I forgot about Baron’s Eats, which opened about a month and a half ago until I read about the 5150 Burger on East Bay Express. It’s half beef, half bacon with the bacon ground into the patty itself. Whoa. I love bacon, so you know I had to try it. Served on a Feel Good Bakery bun, with lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles and mayo, the patty was thin and tender, but the beef flavor was completely overpowered by the bacon. I would probably try the Grass Fed Burger ($7) next time. No, wait a second. On second thought, I would order a Pullman Sandwich. They looked deliciously messy, and at least when I was there, everyone was ordering them.
