There are tons of restaurants in Uptown, so I’m just going to focus on 17th Street for now. Three noteworthy lunch spots all happen to be on the same block. Actually, they’re on the same block AND on the same side of the street, so it’s almost like a gourmet food court. This means if you go with a few people, the group doesn’t have to decide on a single restaurant. Everyone can order what they want from wherever they want and then meet up to eat together. Sounds like a win-win to me.

Stag’s Lunchette opened a couple years ago and the menu changes often. They’re all about cruelty-free meat and making everything in house. My friend Ben shares his experience on his blog Focus Snap Eat.

The Liba Falafel food truck has been making the rounds for years and the brick and mortar opened last summer. I ordered the Falafel Sandwich, but would probably go with the Falafel Salad next time.

Pop Sandwich opened a few months ago and deserves a special trip. I hear everything is good (Veggie, Chicken, Mahi, etc), but it would be hard for me not to order the Pork Adobo again.

I work in the area so visit 17th Street often. It’s nice having these options, but have to say I end up feeling broke at the end of the week. I’m starting to bring lunch more these days just so I can afford to eat at these places! LOL (BTW, still haven’t gone to Liba Falafel because I can’t get past the fact that falafels are undoubtedly deep fried. 🙁 Do you think there’s something I can order there that’s worth standing in that line?)
@benfocussnapeat:disqus granted it’s several blocks away but if money is an issue head down to Chinatown. As long as you got cash, you won’t spend a lot to get a lot
