I really like thin crust pizza, but sometimes a girl just needs some deep dish. So it’s always good to have options, right?
I’ve been to Zachary’s and The Star, but never experienced Patxi’s Pizza until this year. It’s been my brother’s favorite for a while, so I jumped at the chance to check out the newest spot.
Based in Palo Alto, there are 17 locations and the newest Patxi’s Pizza is now open in Dublin. I met a new friend there one day and was pleasantly surprised when it only took 30 minutes to drive from Oakland.
We had way too much fun eating and talking and eating…
So I should probably start talking about pizza at a pizza restaurant, but this artichoke dip was so rich and creamy and definitely worth your time.
And these meatballs were insane. They were flavorful and so light they almost floated off the plate!
After all that richness, it was nice to have some fresh veggies. The Kale and Brussels Sprouts Salad was nice and tart, but a little overdressed.
Now it’s time to talk about the deep dish pizza. I mean, look at all that cheese!
We ordered half Favorite (Pepperoni, fresh mushrooms, black olives) and half Special (all-natural garlic-fennel sausage, fresh mushrooms, green peppers, onions), which actually turned out to be my favorite. There’s something about garlic-fennel sausage that always seems to make everything better. And the tomato sauce was surprisingly light and incredibly flavorful (I think it was also on those insane meatballs).
There was a patio with a bar and TV’s, so it looked looked like a good place to watch a game or eat and drink with friends. Check it out and be sure to let me know about your experience!
