The Lumpia Company at Mad Oak

I first met Alex Retodo of The Lumpia Company a few years ago, so I’ve tasted lots of his creations, including his bacon cheeseburger lumpia. Somehow he keeps coming up with new ideas, so I was excited when he started popping up at Mad Oak a few months ago.  I stopped by the neighborhood bar with a friend and wanted to share because he’ll only be there a couple more months. You don’t want to miss out!

We’ve already tried a lot of The Lumpia Company’s crazy flavors, so we decided to traditional this time.  The Shanghai Lumpia was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside and served with a tangy sweet & sour sauce. We also ate all of the veggies that came with the order and they added a fresh crunch and balanced out the fried lumpia.

You should also know that they have Totchos (tater tot nachos) and Shredded Pork Adobo Tater Tots on the menu. Um…yes, please!  I haven’t tried either, but they both sound like amazing drinking food, right?

The Lumpia Company will only be popping up at Mad Oak for a couple more months, so you should get over there ASAP.
