Both locations of Farmstead Cheeses & Wines have been holding $3 weekly wine tastings for years. But starting in January, they lowered the price to $1 and started donating the proceeds to local schools (this month it’s Montara Middle School). I stopped by the Alameda location and was surprised to find a friendly place for women to meet and catch up. Everyone promptly welcomed me into the mix. Together, we were led through a tasting of 5 wines by knowledgeable staff members.
