Ruta Kahate used to live in the Bay Area and work as a cooking teacher and cookbook author. She’s been in India for the past few years and is back with a brand new book: Quick Fix Indian: Easy, Exotic Dishes in 30 Minutes or Less. She’s going to be at The Pasta Shop for a book signing and ingredients will be available for sampling and purchase. If you don’t feel like cooking, the menu specials for the weekend are inspired by her recipes and include Indian Trail Mix, Sweet Carrot Chutney, Beet Raita with Cilantro, Spicy Cauliflower Pickle, Chopped Salad, Curry Leaf Green Beans, Lemon Rice, Andhra Chicken Curry and Cashew Brittle.
