Era’s Grand Opening, Anna’s Jazz Island moved out and The Marsh moved in

Era Art Bar and Lounge’s Grand Opening is tonight 1/22, 6pm – 1:30am.  Edit: Due to unforeseen delays, Era is not open to the public as of 1/29. The owners of Air Lounge, B Restaurant and Bar and Tamarindo Antojeria combined forces to create a new art and entertainment venue in Oakland’s Uptown.  Specialty cocktails created with house made syrups and bitters mixed with locally grown fruits and herbs will be served in two lounges.  Era will be open Wed – Sat from 5pm – 1:30am starting next week.

East Bay Express reported that Anna’s Jazz Island closed on New Years Eve.  The Marsh, a San Francisco-based Theater Company, signed a lease on January 6 to move a fourth location into the first two floors of the building and Anna’s landlord bought her out.  The first Marsh production, Don Reed’s East 14th, will open on January 22.
