Yesterday, SF Chronicle Restaurant Critic Michael Bauer wrote about how the Peruvian Restaurant trend has continued down the peninsula. He didn’t mention the East Bay, but I noticed that two Peruvian restaurants just opened in Oakland.
Tambo’s soft opening was actually in May but the official grand opening was just last weekend. Chef Patricia Rios offers “a selection of different types of ceviche, an assortment of Peruvian tapas, and a variety of organic South American beers and wines.” There’s plenty of seafood on the menu, Tiraditos (Peruvian sashimi), sandwiches and soups.

According to Tablehopper, Pucquio just opened last week for dinner in the former Guest Chef location. The menu features Cebiches (not ceviches) and other Peruvian specialties like Lomo Saltado and Anticuchos de Pulpo con Tacu Tacu.
