CookieBar opens in Alameda

CookieBar opened about a week and a half ago in Alameda. There are milkshakes, house made waffle cones and made-to-order ice cream sandwiches on the menu. I’ve never been to CREAM because of the looooong lines, but it sounds like this is a similar concept. You choose a cookie (6 flavors from Pacific Cookie Company) and an ice cream (16 favors from Thrifty Ice Cream), then they sandwich it for you for $3.50. They were very nice and let me take my time deciding. I tasted several ice cream flavors including Animal Cookie and Birthday Cake, but I was in the mood for chocolate so I went with a classic: Cookies & Cream between two Dr. Midnight cookies. The ice cream sandwich was pretty big and I had just eaten dinner, so I only ate half. It could be a nice treat, especially when it’s hot outside, but the triple chocolate cookie did not quite satisfy my craving. Maybe I should have asked for a side of hot fudge… 1606 Webster St., Alameda
