Oakland Veg Week encourages people to try a plant-based diet by next week. Nine participating restaurants (Asmara, Beauty’s Bagels, Bocanova, Donna’s Tamales, Farley’s East, Homeroom, Italian Colors, La Borinqueña and Lin Jia) are offering specials, but there are lots of veggie friendly restaurants in the town. There will also be free and relatively cheap events all week, including a cooking class at Whole Foods, a pop-up at Baia Pasta and happy hour with NoNo Burger at Heinhold’s First and Last Chance Saloon.
