Cooking classes, Lunar New Year, documentary screening

berkeleys kitchenBerkeley‘s Kitchen and Cafe Tibet are hosting a Tibetan Cooking Clinic.  They’ll demonstrate how to make Spinach momos (steamed dumplings served with a mint sauce), a Tibetan Chili Dipping Sauce, Indian Chai tea and Tibetan Bod-Jha tea and Bhaktsa Marku (a dessert pasta rolled in brown sugar and topped with cheese).  All proceeds will go to Single Mothers, a non-profit in India.

Celebrate the Year of the Tiger at Alameda’s Lunar New Year Festival.  Along with music, dancing and art, there will also be fruit carving and a hand pulled noodle demo.

END-of-the-LINESaul’s Deli is screening End of the Line, the “first major documentary about the devastating effects of overfishing.”  Sustainable whitebait, sardines, mackeral, trout and Albacore tuna will all be featured on the special dinner menu.
