Modigliani Cafe opened about a month ago, with plenty of sandwiches and salads on the menu; most of the ingredients are made in house. I stopped by right after seeing the movie Chef at the Grand Lake Theater. The cashier suggested the Veggie Panini (Marinated & Grilled Eggplant, Zucchini, Peppers, Onions, Melted Mozzarella) because she loves the housemade Walnut Pesto, but since I had just seen Cubanos on the big screen, I had to order the Cuban Sandwich (Roasted Pork, Ham, Swiss Cheese, Pickles and Mustard, $8).  I didn’t see any chips or side salad on the menu, but didn’t end up needing a side because the sandwich was substantial. It was meaty, gooey, crunchy and the whole grain mustard added a nice acidity.  I could only finish half.
