The Bourbon Tasting Flight at Pican

If you like bourbon, you should definitely try a tasting flight at Picán.  They had over 100 different bourbons, which was one of the largest collections outside of Kentucky.  Whoa.  There were three different tasting flights, but the bartender suggested the Connoisseur Flight ($20) so that’s what I ordered.

I told him about the bourbons I’ve tasted and that I just wanted to learn.  He chose a couple that were similar and others that had completely different flavors, and then gave me an informal lesson on the history and production of whiskey.  If you like bourbon, you should definitely go and see for yourself.

  1. We’ve done three of Pican’s bourbon tastings and it was a lot of fun, agree! We prefer doing the Aficionado level which is $69/flight. If you didn’t get to try any of the Jeffersons – bourbon or rye – do try them next time. Excellent!
