Do you prefer Thin Crust, Deep Dish, Oakland-style or something else? We have a ton of pizzerias in Oakland so I want to start a conversation about the best places to get each type of pizza. Let me know all about your favorites in the comments, then we’ll vote on the most popular spots next week and come up with a list for the The Best Pizza in Oakland. So tell me, which spot serves YOUR favorite pizza?

I like a wide variety of pizzas. My friends and I are most impressed with Oliveto, which is thin crust. They have just a few ingredients, the crust is a wonderful consistency, the tomato sauce is tangy and not overpowering and they seem to have a nice olive oil component. We like sitting at the counter across from the pizza oven and watching the action.
Zachary’s for Deep Dish and A16 Rockridge for Napoleon – of course!! I also LOVE Star Pizza’s gluten-free cornmeal crust!! So tasty!!!
Pizzaiolo for thin crust, The Star on Grand for Deep dish!
I like The Star on Grand Avenue’s pizzas – both thick and thin crust. The corn meal crust is delicious. My all-time fave, though, is
Lo Coco’s on Piedmont Avenue. The ‘Special,’ with homemade pepperoni, artichoke hearts, and anchovies, is scrumptious.
Forge still has one of my favs. Their sausage with an egg on top is awesome. Fist of Flour is another fav.
Have to include Nick’s and Slicer in the discussion.
