Oakland Take Out Restaurants: Communite Table

Communite Table opened in the Laurel District a few months ago and while you can have a meal in the restaurant, they also have a pretty extensive take out menu.  A few months ago, I tasted a Chorizo Soup that was kind of bland, so I waited a few weeks and tried again and this time the food was well-executed.

I was on my way home from a long day at work and started thinking about dinner.  Cooking was not an option so I decided to get takeout.  It was easy, tasty and comforting – perfect for those long days when I have just enough energy to eat and watch Scandal before falling asleep.

I bought a loaded Baked Potato for around $3.25 and devoured everything, including the potato skin.

I wanted to try another frozen soup and the counter person suggested the Curried Cauliflower & Lentil ($5), which was hearty and comforting.

I’ll eat in the restaurant one day, but for now I’m glad there’s a solid takeout option in my neighborhood.
