Since my last dinner at The Dock, there’s a new chef and some changes to the menu and if we go together, we can taste everything!
I’ve been to The Dock a couple times since it opened a year and a half ago, and the food has been both creative and delicious. For example, the Caesar Popcorn (anchovy, lemon and black pepper, chives, grana padano cheese) had all the flavors of a salad, but in popcorn form, so it kind of blew my mind. Since my last dinner at The Dock, there’s a new chef and some interesting additions to the menu and if we go together, we can taste everything!
How about Tuna Tartare (with fermented turnip greens, egg custard, korean chili flake, pear, sesame oil, puffed rice), Jerk Spiced Chicken Wings (with all spice and habanero pepper gastrique, pineapple vinegar) or Choucroute Garnie (with roast duck, crispy pork belly, bockwurst sausage, braised sauerkraut, mustard seeds)???
Plus, it’s a great time to visit, since owner James Syhabout is donating a portion of this month’s sales to Oakland public schools.
There are 10 spots and the plan is to order lots of dishes, eat family-style and share everything. It’s $2 to save your seat and please try to bring cash so it will be easy to split the bill. Hope to see you there!
