Social – Festivals, Cocktails and an Anniversary Party

If you’ve had a successful garden, the 12th Annual Piedmont Harvest Festival sounds like the perfect opportunity to show off the fruits of your labor.  Gardeners will be competing to win awards like Best Tomato and Most Unusual Looking Edible, while bakers will go for Best Pie and Best Bread.  A farmer’s market and and jazz festival will also add to the fun.

The Rockridge Out and About is an annual street festival with live music and chef demonstrations.  Rockridge Market Hall’s “Picnic in the Street” is kind of a festival within a festival.  There will be comparative tastings, cupcake decorating, and pumpkin painting for the kids.  And, of course, there will be food. These are a couple of the offerings: a spit-roasted porchetta sandwiches from Oliveto, an adobo pulled pork sandwiches with picante cabbage slaw with salsa from The Pasta Shop and a grilled Bistro Steak sandwich with salsa verde from Marin Sun Farms.  Ben & Nicks and Paul Marcus Wines will serve beer and wine.
