Robata Skewers at Ozumo, Christina Mitchell
Trust me: Ozumo’s new 4 course prix fixe is a bargain. Try the complex, yet beautifully simple Hanabi (hamachi and avocado drizzled with a ginger and ponzu sauce). And order some of the Robata Skewers, like the satisfying Gyu (angus filet mignon steak). Just watch out for the shishito peppers – the first one was mild; the second was so painful it brought tears to my eyes. But after biting through the crispy edges, it was the Buta (organic pork belly with spicy miso) that took my breath away when it melted on my tongue. Yes, definitely order the Buta. Or, just lie to me and say you did.
