Oliveto just released the menu for the Truffle Dinners and it deserves some attention. I stuck to the Antipasti and Salads when I went to the Tomato Dinners, ordering a couple small plates. But this time, it’s the Primi Piatti and Grills, Sautés and Rotisserie sections that are calling my name. The special menus are usually limited to the restaurant upstairs, but for the first time ever, the downstairs cafe will be serving a White Truffle Pizza and a Black Truffle Pizza. How will I ever decide what to order?

Thanksgiving
With Turkey Day just around the corner, I wanted to give you some options if you need a little (or a lot) help with putting dinner on the table. For the folks who just want to go out to dinner, I have some ideas for you, too.
If you just need help with dessert, IndieCakes is offering two pies: Organic Pumpkin or Maple Pecan. You can get a pie kit ($20 – 23), which comes with a pre-baked pie shell, pie filling and fool proof instructions to successfully pull a freshly baked pie from your own oven. Or, if you prefer, you can just buy one already baked ($24 – 28). By the way, I’ve been volunteering in the kitchen the past few weeks (and learning a lot!), so I can vouch for the quality of ingredients and attention to detail.

If you need a little more help, Summer Kitchen is offering pumpkin pie and other delicious sounding desserts like Ginger Cake and Apple Galette. They also have brined turkeys ready for the oven, and sides like sausage stuffing, mashed potatoes, homemade gravy, and roasted Brussels sprouts with bacon. Send your order with phone number to info@summerkitchenbakeshop.com and they’ll respond with an estimate.
