For decades, Cheeseboard has supported other pizza spots like Arizmendi, Sliver and now Dimond Slice Pizza. The recipes are very similar, so if you liked one version of vegetarian pizza, you will probably like them all.
It was great to hear that they’re continuing the tradition in East Oakland with Dimond Slice Pizza, which opened recently. Pizza for everyone!

I stopped by a few weeks ago and started with a salad (because I’m trying to keep it healthy) and this one was incredibly fresh and flavorful. The small salad was actually pretty huge and on the day of my visit, it was an organic spring mix with roasted corn, radishes, sunflower seeds and roasted garlic dressing.

I also ordered a slice ($3.25) of the pizza of the day, which was Roma tomato, red onion, mozzarella, Bulgarian feta, cilantro, lemon juice & zest, garlic olive oil. They continued the tradition of adding an extra mini slice (go to Nosh for the history) and while the spongy crust is not my favorite, the garlic olive oil added another dimension of flavor and I devoured every single bite.
In all of my years of eating this type of vegetarian pizza, I don’t think I’ve ever tried the Green Sauce – until now. It was herby and tangy and added so much to the experience, as I dipped my slice of pizza. Let’s just say I will definitely remember to ask for some next time.
